The Films

Family Business

In the summer of 2010, we completed filming for Family Business, a documentary short on Twin Oaks, a rural income-sharing community in Virginia. Founded in 1967, Twin Oaks embodies a way of life that reflects their values of "egalitarianism, ecology, and non-violence".

Rhythm of Rutledge

Rutledge, Missouri is a town of one hundred residents, one general store, zero stoplights, and thousands of acres of corn and soy. This rural landscape is also home to three interdependent intentional communities: Sandhill Farm, an income-sharing agricultural community, Dancing Rabbit, a thriving off-the-grid ecovillage, and Red Earth Farms, a young community of homesteads. Together, the tri-communities present a powerful example of a rural renaissance that seeks healthier ways of treating the land and one another. This feature length documentary film observes the daily life at these communities, absorbing the audience into the unique rhythm of Rutledge.
